OSTEOPATHY
Manual Medicine
Osteopath uses a form of manual medicine which recognizes the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. An Osteopath focuses on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function as a unit.
Address the causes of the injury,
Not only the symptoms.
Osteopaths commonly treat pain and dysfunction of the spine and body, achieving their great results via a hands-on holistic approach. This means that the injured area is not the sole focus of the treatment. The predisposing factors ( postural strain, muscular imbalance or faulty foot mechanics, etc) are looked at as the possible causes of the injury. Dysfunction in one area can profoundly affect and manifest in other areas.
The goal of the treatment is to address the causes of the injury and not just the symptoms. This is what sets an Osteopath apart.
